HEAVY SCHOOL BAGS?

1st day of SCHOOL 2013!

Many parents remarked that the school bags of their Primary 1 kids are so HEAVY… Heavy for the parents? Imagine the little ones in Primary 1?

While the system takes its time to resolve the heavy school bags issue, let’s make sure the little ones know how to manage the weight on their small physique.

Overloading the body, plus prolonged improper posture at a young age will affect the child’s physical structure and health eventually.

Common conditions include (but not exclusive to):

POOR FOCUS
HUNCHING
UNEVEN SHOULDERS/HIPS
FATIGUE
HEADACHES
BACK PAIN
LOW IMMUNITY
MOOD SWINGS
POOR PSYCHOMOTOR SKILLS…


Take the images here as a guide and ensure that the kids observe proper posture when carrying their school bags.

Note: The height of the backpack should not be taller than the child when seated and the width not wider than the shoulders.

Adopt proper posture.



Carrying the bag on one side is not advisable.

  1. I am glad that somebody has finally created a very comprehensive page about this problem. Children are carrying bags that are far too heavy which are ultimately causing them huge problems, I personally have had this problem when I got older from carrying heavy bags at school
